A quick overview of the project
During the Food Hotel Tech 2024 event, Altelis launched Livie AI, a virtual assistant designed to simplify hotel communication using artificial intelligence. This project aimed to attract new leads, showcase Livie’s features, and strengthen the brand image of this innovative tool within the hospitality industry.

The Challenge
Altelis, a company specializing in digital solutions for the hospitality sector, created Livie AI to help hotels communicate seamlessly with their guests, answering questions 24/7 in any language. The Food Hotel Tech 2024 event was the perfect opportunity to capture the attention of hotel and restaurant managers while positioning Livie AI as an essential tool for modern hospitality.
The goal was clear: engage potential clients through impactful communication materials that would not only catch their attention at the event but also leave them with a memorable impression of Livie AI.
Insights
During our initial analysis of the existing communication materials, we identified several issues:
- Too much information: Heavy text discouraged visitors from reading.
- Lack of visuals: Few visual elements to attract attention in a busy event environment.
- Unclear hierarchy: Key information was hard to find quickly.
- Features not highlighted: Unique selling points like Livie’s multilingual capabilities were not showcased clearly.
These issues made the materials unattractive and ineffective for capturing leads during the event.
Ideation
We explored two different approaches to improve the communication materials:
First Approach: Direct Sales Focus
- Reduced text to short, impactful messages.
- Added human images and simulated conversation bubbles to demonstrate Livie AI in action.
- Clear visual hierarchy with bold titles and highlighted keywords.
Limitation: While clear and straightforward, this approach could be too aggressive and overly sales-focused.
Second Approach: Visual and Immersive
- Used inspiring visuals related to travel and hospitality.
- Included multilingual conversation excerpts to highlight Livie’s capabilities.
- Adopted a minimalist and modern aesthetic centered on user experience.
Limitation: This approach did not clearly emphasize that Livie was a chatbot and lacked visual representation of the user interface.
These two proposals helped us iterate and identify the strongest elements to maximize Livie’s impact at the event.
Design Solutions
We refined the chosen direction to balance emotional appeal and clarity, focusing on:
- A clean, immersive design that evoked travel, warmth, and hotel experiences.
- Multilingual conversation snippets to demonstrate Livie’s versatility.
- Short, clear copy that conveyed the value of Livie AI without overwhelming visitors.
This ensured Livie AI stood out visually while clearly communicating its purpose.
Results, Impact & Learnings
The second, more visual proposal was selected and printed for the event due to its engaging design, which resonated with hotel managers often unfamiliar with AI technology. The travel-inspired aesthetic attracted visitors and aligned with the hospitality environment.
Impact:
- Increased visibility: The banner design captured the attention of visitors, effectively showcasing Livie AI as an innovative, accessible tool for hotels.
- Successful conversions: Two prospects became clients after discovering Livie AI at the event and using the online subscription system.
This project highlighted the power of visual storytelling and simplicity in communicating complex technology in the hospitality sector, while proving that a clear, user-centered approach can drive real business outcomes during high-traffic events.
